The Crocodile is the first work created by Richard Orlinski in 2004. Discover the Crocodile in its original color, a brilliant bright red, Red Orlinski! Having survived natural disasters and ice ages, the crocodile fascinates the artist with its ability to survive. What man and crocodile have in common is the reptilian brain, a memoryless brain governed by innate reflexes, the seat of our violent impulses.

“Back in 2007, my first idea was to set up shop in trendy hotels willing to host my sculptures. Like the Murano, which welcomed my red crocodile in its lobby when it was first created, and took advantage of the opportunity to create a cocktail named after him. Bingo: the establishment attracted a number of art lovers who became my collectors. Next, I approached prestigious establishments. Businessman Dominique Desseigne opened the doors of the Fouquet's hotels in Paris and the Normandy in Deauville. The math was right, the international stars who stayed there took notice of me.”
